Oleksandr Dubov, PhD
Dr. Dubov is an Assistant Professor of Ethical Studies and an Instructor in Public Health at Loma Linda University. Dr. Dubov earned his PhD in Health Care Ethics from Duquesne University, where his thesis investigated, “Emotions, intuitions, and risk perception in critical care.” His prior education includes a BA in Theology from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Institute and an MDiv from Andrews University. He has worked for Emory University Hospital as both transplant chaplain and palliative care counselor and at the Yale Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS as a Visiting Research Fellow. At Yale he was given a grant to study barriers and facilitators of pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV in Ukraine. He has also been involved in the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS. His current interests include HIV prevention and health disparities, as well as end-of-life care and decision-making.
