Whitny Braun

Bioethics Program Director

Whitny Braun is the Program Director for the M.A in Bioethics and an Assistant Professor of Ethics at Loma Linda University. Dr. Braun’s research has focused on religious suicide including the Jain practice of Sallekhana and the Parsi practice of Dakhmenashini.

Oleksandr Dubov

Assistant Professor of Ethical Studies

Dr. Dubov is an Assistant Professor of Ethical Studies and an Instructor in Public Health at Loma Linda University. Dr. Dubov earned his PhD in Health Care Ethics from Duquesne University, where his thesis investigated, “Emotions, intuitions, and risk perception in critical care.” His current interests include HIV prevention and health disparities, as well as end-of-life care and decision-making.

David R. Larson is a professor of Theology Studies at Loma Linda University (LLU). His broad work is highlighted by a role in the Death with Dignity Initiative, hospital policy consultation, and involvement in three books: “Christianity and Homosexuality: Some Seventh-day Adventist Perspectives,” “Abortion: Ethical Issues and Options,” and “Making the Whole Person Whole: Papers and Presentations on Religion, Ethics, and Medicine”

Grace Oei

Associate Director of Center for Christian Bioethics

Grace Oei is Associate Director of the Center for Christian Bioethics and Director of Clinical Ethics at Loma Linda University Health. She is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital where she works as a Pediatric Intensivist and Certified Clinical Ethics Consultant. Dr. Oei specializes in the ethics of neonatal care and is a regular speaker for medical, bioethical, and religious conferences.
