Whitny Braun, PhD, MPH
Whitny Braun de Lobatón is an assistant professor of ethics and the current program director of the Master’s in Bioethics. She earned her doctorate from Claremont Graduate University in Theology, Ethics and Culture, a master’s in public health and a master’s in bioethics, both from Loma Linda University, bachelor's degrees in history and political science from La Sierra University and she is currently earning her law degree from Syracuse University. While her early research focused on the intersection of religion and law with regard to end-of-life practices she is currently researching theological and legal trends surrounding practices associated with fertility treatments. Outside of her work at Loma Linda University she works as an investigative researcher for documentary films.

- Currently Dr. Braun de Lobatón is using her time as a faculty scholar to pursue phase I of a research study entitled: Exploring Motives for Sex-Based Selection of Embryos by Prospective Parents Utilizing IVF and PGD/PGT.
